Some other useful features include a merge function in Word for incorporating other users' changes, a word count display, a drop-down menu in Excel with commonly used functions, and an easy-to-use set of diagram creators.
Speech recognition was applied in all Office applications as well as Internet Explorer and Outlook Express and has two different functions: Dictation and Voice Command.
Dictation provides the ability to dictate words that will be transcribed into typed text in a Office program; Voice Command is used to call menu options and commands via voice.
The clipboard stores up to 24 items and is located in the task pane. The Clipboard task pane also displays a thumbnail view of a copied item, whether it consists of text, numbers, or a graphic.
Microsoft Office XP's online and collaborative tool improvements make it a smart upgrade for businesses and groups, but it's not worth the cost, time, and effort for single or home users.
